Comments:
Last night I borrowed cables for the NAC/432 MHz
activity and forgot to install those back at the
HF-station, so 6 minutes late. Then it turned
out that is was CWT's slow session, so no hurry
at all! My old Accu-keyer has resistors for the
speed, so the 29/30 wpm was too fast, and next
down sounded too slow, but I checked it out on
RBN: it was actually 18/19 wpm. Some stations
had problems copying slow Morse, and most were
running 23/24 wpm...
Last Thursday an Autumn storm blew the 20 m tall
vertical out of the telephone pole. On Saturday
I installed a 17 m tall version into another pole.
It is closer to "the" noise source (one of the
many, but probably the strongest), however it
turned out to play well for the USA-direction.
Solar activity is slightly up and K = 0 almost
exclusively for a couple of days now. Attenuation
is low, so many signals are on the strong side
and scatter levels are remarkable at times.
Cheers/73, Zaba OH1ZAA #1856
