Comments:
Band conditions were not great but we didn't have a CME that wiped things out
either. For a low power station with wires CW is the money mode and this year
was no exception for me.
It seemed like there were more stations on the air. What with current social
conditions more hams came out to play radio!
The Saturday highlight was watching W0B (W0BH/M) being spotted through
Washington county and being able to work him on 20m when he was a few miles away
here in Marshall county. We gave each other our first KS multiplier for the
event.
Sunday's highlight was being called by NL7WK for the AK mult. Thanks!
Other than the QRN, a lot of stations came by on 80m CW Saturday evening. I
think it was my most successful effort on 80m in this event.
Participation is very high and not many stations were worked that needed to be
coached on the exchange. I am impressed by the number of operators working CW
in these events. I seem to recall in the first year of my participation in the
2010 KSQP that CW runs were quite short. Saturday rates on CW were very good
for me. Thanks to all the ops giving CW a try in a low key event like this.
Thanks to those who spotted me so I could practice my near non-existent pileup
skills. Ha!
