Comments:
First running of the Batavia FT-8 contest, hosted by the national radio club of
Indonesia. Two remarkable items about this contest: outstanding propagation on
20 meters on Day 1 and the large numbers of YB's on the air. It felt like the
national club wanted to have a lot of operators QRV to help make this event a
success. If that's true then they succeeded.
This contest is similar to WPX, which is good, because propagation on Sunday was
very poor, and I ended up chasing prefix mults from domestic stations, which
kept me busy. If not for that I would have pulled the plug much earlier.
The new WW DIGI FT8 without the signal reports is nice, it speeds up rate.
Looking forward to WW DIGI in a few weeks.
