Comments:
Day one was remote from the dining room table. Day two, semi-awake at 6:30AM
and beaconing a CQ. EC2K eventually called me with a huge signal, but I
couldn't escape the CQ and eventually shut off the K3 to stop it. Later I
discovered that the rechargeable battery in the wireless keyboard was dead. So
day two was at the operating position in front of the radio. It actually took
me a few minutes to readjust to no latency which I had been compensating for the
first day. Weird conditions with the best opening to Europe being Friday night.
Saturday was mediocre and Sunday was a bust. By 5PM EDT Sunday, I had worked
everyone I could hear and threw in the towel. F5PBL had been using my sleep
time for a SB40 effort by remote from France and picked up three extra hours at
the end.
