Comments:
20 was noisy, rain expected over the next few days, and it is clouding up. Few
signals on the band, but W7 was very strong. It's so interesting to compare the
1300Z session because W7 was very weak on 40. PA3AAV was so loud that I thought
he was East Coast! Quite a few DX in the log. 1915Z - 47QSOs, 1930Z - 101 QSOs
(There is hope for a 200 hour.) But it is noticeably slower with lots of
unanswered CQs. 1945Z 133 QSOs, Rats, lost the chance. Ran out of stations
and had to S&P at the end and there were not many left to work. Not much
activity / propagation from the Midwest. The PGXL worked well, but has noisy
fans and thinks the SWR is 2.5:1 when it is flat.
Started to reroute the cables from the shack window. I put up 5 clothesline
poles from the tower to the back of the garage where there will be grounding,
switching, and filtering. Still need to work on the overhead rack that goes
into the shack. I'll need about 100 ft of hardline for each run in that rack
and have to work on remote control with Green Heron and Denkovi and and get an
ethernet connection to the shack network.
