Comments:
Put together 23 element 222 MHz Yagi and installed on "umbrella stand"
table in back yard 1 hour before contest. Tried new 222 xvtr with 25 watts
output. Had to run power supply to keep my FT-817 and xvtr running at higher
power. The temp lash up worked enough to complete four contacts in three grids.
But, xvtr was very drifty. up/down 1.5 KHz depending on wind and transmission
time. Temps started in 50's. Was 45 deg when I packed up at 0930 PM. Nobody left
to work on the band. But, was fun to cobble up temp ant, xvtr, ps etc. and make
a few contacts from outdoor temp location. Hope to work many of you on 432 MHz
Sprint next week. 73, Kent O'Dell, KA2KQM
