Comments:
Congrats to the W2GD, K3LR, and NR4M teams for great jobs this weekend. There
will likely be others ahead of us as well. :-) Generally tough weekend for
propagation at our QTH. We just never felt loud this weekend and couldn't work
as many 10-pointers as others, especially to the south and west, were working.
Just listening on the long EU Beverage we could tell condx were not good. That
is one thing about 160m - conditions can vary so much from hour to hour and
night to night. But we love the band, and even mediocre to occasionally poor
conditions are still better than not being on the band!
I can't remember every being so frustrated at not being able to find a clear
frequency...there had to be a European station every 200 Hz at the start. Had a
tough time getting a run going so we alternated between running and search &
pounce.
Signals were down so much that we sometimes had to repeat reports many times
over....which is kind of unusual.
Heard JH4UYB and a trace of JA3YBK on Saturday morning but nil on Sunday
morning. No VK/ZL ever heard. Heard 7Z1SJ but could not get through the EU
wall.
Missed: NE, PEI, NT, YT, NU
We still need to work on more effectively isolating the second station - still
very difficult to work the in-band station hard. Challenges. What would life be
without them?
