Comments:
This year is the 49th year since I entered my first CQWW160CW contest.I still
have the hand written log and dupe sheets from most of these entries. I may
have missed a few along the way, but this contest remains my all time favorite.
I am always amazed at what I can hear (and mostly work) on Top Band. For the
past four years, I have entered the QRP, Single OP, unassisted category. To go
tip-toeing through the kilowatt stations and pretty much work everything I call
(some exceptions) just gives me a big thrill. I don't compete to win. I just
want to see what I can do and do better than last year. The callsigns are
mostly all familiar to me. It is like having a reunion with friends from years
past. I see my score would place pretty well in the low power category and is
better than a lot of the high power category. I will never be top gun because I
have never been able to stay up all night. So, if I beat you, take
"comfort" in knowing you have been beaten by a 78 year old guy with
one lung who isn't very good at contesting. :-) 73 de Dave, K4TO
