Comments:
It's that time of year again to send
the CWops fraternity the very best of
seasonal greetings for a Merry Christmas
and a Happy New Year.
This combined with a word of
thanks and appreciation for all the many contacts
made in the weekly rounds of
CWT which have become
a must-do routine with a regularly
administered dose of comfortable
competitive camaraderie for so
many of us.
Also, the sessions can be
described as having provided
a familiar opportunity to rub elbows
with the mingling multitudes attending
our CWT QSO parties. Sometimes
I have only managed to post a score of one
solitary 20m QSO logged during an
entire 1-hour session, but generally
the tally has turned out a little more
satisfactory, given Helsinki's location
in the north of Europe, some 700 km
south of the Arctic Circle and close to
the Aurora Oval.
Hopefully and, indeed, predictably, we
will see slowly improving
band conditions in the months
ahead now that Cycle 24
is finally expected to be
bottoming out to make way for
the advent of a new solar cycle.
When that happens, we are
ready – eager to take advantage of
the blessings that Old Sol may
have in store for us.
