Comments:
Wow! Another CQWWCW behind us and it was a delight! Good friend and terrific op
Bertie, N4CW and I had a terrific time tag-teaming for 41 hours in band
conditions that lacked any atmospheric noise, a joy to the ears. While
propagation was not great, it was good enough to keep us busy!
A few days before the contest, I got my Prosistel Ring Rotor repaired for the
lower LPDA. Then just prior to the contest, my YCCC SO2R box bit the dust - not
that Bertie and I were going to do SO2R mind you - but it was working earlier in
the day. Regardless, Murphy had other ideas and I had to rewire things and spent
a few hours working on the computer to allow N1MM+ to handle things correctly
(darn USB problems). No doubt frustration caused more delay than anything else.
Regardless, 30 minutes prior to contest start, all was working perfectly and
most importantly, the station played well.
The best part about this year is that CQWWCW was the week prior to Thanksgiving.
Thanksgiving weekend always throws a monkey-wrench into my operating sked; not
so this year!
