Comments:
This was a good, challenging session. I started on 20 and was making contacts at
a good, for me, rate. But soon that dropped off. I just couldn't hear all that
many strong stations. I tried 40 but nothing was happening there. Back to 20 and
more searching for unworked stations. I only found one or two that were
workable.
So, I tried calling CQ up near the top of the band, as someone had suggested. I
mean around 14.042 or so. No one responded to my CQs. More searching but I
couldn't find anyone workable. Back to 40 -- still nothing happening there.
So, I tried more calling CQ, this time around 14.027. And in the last seven or
eight minutes of the contest I made five contacts, my most ever for calling CQ
(running).
Thanks for the Qs and 73! Larry
