Comments:
QRP-unfriendly conditions for sure. After FT4 proved itself very effective in
the CQWW VHF contest in July, here there were just too many signals in too small
a space. I only made headway with 3-pointers on FT8 late Sat. evening. I hope
other ops took the hint to log optimistically; I did and I'm afraid the score
reduction will be embarrassing.
My 2 cents: The rules should suggest spreading out to 3 khz VFO offsets: e.g.
7090, 7093, 7096. This would avoid the mystery of which side to go with splits;
then maybe more would move. Also, would the committee be willing to consider
penalties for poor signal quality? With limited spectrum, one or two signals
with hum or audio harmonics really hurt the other contestants, much more so than
in conventional contests. Tnx all for the q's! Genesis G11, doublet at 50',
WSJT-X without external logger.
