Comments:
K3CCR is the club station at the Collington continuing-care
retirement community at FM 18OW in MD, just east of DC. N3UM and
W3GB did Multi-2 in the Aug. 2019 NAQP CW.
As we’ve done before, N3UM mostly ran, on 20 thru 80m, while W3GB
clicked spots for mults and always-CQing stations on those bands
plus 15 and 160m.
This year we did much better than our previous best in Aug. 2016
NAQP CW; 13% more Qs, 27% more mults, and a 43% higher score.
Total on-time was 11.2 hr, with 2 ops for 9.4 hr. and 1 op for
1.8 hr. of staggered supper breaks.
Mult hunting went very well. On all bands, we worked every state
but ND plus DC, KP2, KP4, and most well-populated VE provinces
except AB. W3GB got 1/3 of total QSOs but just over 1/2 the mults,
2.9 Qs/mult vs N3UM’s 6.3 Qs/mult.
N3UM did well running on 20m; got 82% of our 20m. Qs and 29% of our
total Qs. N3UM runs did OK on 80m, 60% of the 80m. total. On 40m,
runs got only 32% of 40m. Qs. But, clicking spots on 40m. gave
decent rates, 40-50 Qs/hr. after dark.
QRN was low, so we did well on 80 and 160m. 0400-0457, but then ran
out of new calls to work. QRT after one last Q on 40m. at 0508Z.
