Comments:
This was our eleventh consecutive 1D Field Day entry from EPA, although our
first operation was from my parents' backyard in Haverstraw, NY as thirteen
year-olds in 1987 (and there were a few great years with the Valley Cottage
Crystal Radio Club - W2DMC as well). The QSO total above is the raw one that
includes dupes & class D stations, and the total score includes bonus
points.
Conditions on 40M were difficult for us, and the 40M highlight (and possibly the
highlight of the entire event) was my twelve year-old daughter making her first
QSO. Many thanks to the 40M phone op at K8DF in the final 30 minutes for pulling
her voice out of the noise!
Thanks too to everyone who went into the field. We tried to work as many of you
as we could, and you all helped us have a great time.
73,
Joe
