Comments:
Started on 40 with the SteppIR at 84 feet in bidirectional mode. It worked
well. I switched to the inverted vee at 35 ft and often could not hear the
station. It took 2 minutes of calling CQ to attract attention. The band was
long, not too many west coast coming through, and activity down compared to the
daytime sessions. At 0322Z had 56 QSOs. Before too long ran out of stations
and caught a few very weak midwest. 80 was OK at 0348Z. Used the inverted vee
at 35 feet. It was quiet so did not really need the SAL30. Quickly ran out of
stations I could hear, so the rate went down. It is amazing how different the
night session is compared to the day sessions.
