Comments:
Not a serious effort, but enjoyed it! I joked before the contest that I'd be
dispensing the rare K5 prefix this year. Turns out it may be more rare than I
thought. With the first wave of scores, K5NZ and myself were the only two K5
prefixes. I'm sure many more K5s participated, yet I was surprised a couple of
pileups late in the contest.
This contest is perfect for our current solar conditions. If you can work just
one band, you can still have a lot of fun. W0RIC(W4IX) noted that he started on
20M and never changed bands! I'm quite certain that a two-band effort on 40 and
20M could yield a decent score, even with modest antennas. I may give this a
serious try next year. Thanks to all who called! 73, Paul
