Comments:
Using two elements of my dismantled 3-el Zaba-laser
and 1.5 hrs of preparations I was able to raise a
2-el 14 MHz yagi about 3 m over the roof in just
about 15 minutes beaming Stateside, while getting
ready to go already 10 minutes ahead of CWT init.
It turned out to be a noisy location for the yagi
just as with the 4-el 21 MHz version that I took
down just before Winter from the same location.
So on RX the S/N-ratio was about the same on the
vertical and the 2-el yagi, but signals were much
stronger from the USA, and 80 % worked was USA.
Many new calls in the log (not worked before)...
I switched back and forth between the two antennas,
but conditions to Europe were quite poor...
Cheers/73, Zaba OH1ZAA CWops #1856
