Comments:
Rig: IC-7700/Acom 2000A
Antennas: damaged 160m Inverted L, 80m dipole @ 80ft with tuner, 40m delta loop
(used on 20/15 as well).
A wind storm caused extensive damage to the new garage where the shack is. It
was not obvious, but the 160L was damaged (intermittent spiking SWR, have to
troubleshoot). An 80ft oak is now partially inside the back wall of the garage,
having pierced it. Four other significantly large trees will have to be taken
down since they now hang at a 20deg angle from the ground and quite dangerous.
The new SPE 1.5K amp died on Sat afternoon. Back for warranty repair Mon.
Luckily, had the Acom 2000A ready to operate.
The SPE amp has an internal high power ATU. Using the Acom on 80 and 160, I set
up the HF-Auto, and it worked pretty well on 80m, could not get 160 below 2:1
buit not the tuner's fault.
Condx horrible here on 40m Fri night. Barely heard EU. Started working EU Sat
afternoon around 3P local. Have to get up some yagis, wires are OK up to a
point, but these condx are really tough.
