First VHF Contest. Operated from the summit of Telegraph Pass in Yuma AZ (SOTA
summit Reference W7A/YU-148) at 1,770 feet elevation. Rig was FT-857D at 50W on
50/144 and 20W on 432. Antennas consisted of a 6m dipole and Elk 144/432 log
periodic. Modes/QSOs were CW (1), FM (2) and SSB (28). Had fun and learned a
lot. I'll be back for more!
