Comments:
Quite a race betweeen the two St. Croix big guns on topband.
Dan NP2J has 150 more Qsos than KV4FZ but 18 less countries.
WOW: 68 countries unassisted is rather exceptional.
I tested signals versus Dan to VA before the contest. He is
about 10db louder so his antenna really plays. Both Dan and FZ
were able to hold their run frequencies while I got kicked across
the band.
Dan uses an interesting antenna. Two collinear folded
Ls fed 1/8 wave apart 70’ at the top. So it looks like two half
wave delta loops but is actually fed near the corner so there is a
quarter wave wire folded at the top fed against an in-line radial.
It sure works.
