Congratulations to all of the teams around the world that had fun this weekend
in the CQWW Phone Multi Multi category. We had lots of fun at K3LR - the very
best part is being with good friends in the K3LR shack and talking to our radio
friends all over the world. 48 hours of pure magic that never ever gets old.
Special congratulations to the W3LPL and KC1XX teams. Both teams did very well
considering the challenging conditions. It is great to have this close
competition never knowing who will finish on top. Thanks to ALL of the operators
at K3LR for special moments - new stories and making memories that last a life
time with our friends. Propagation was not the best. 10 meters was a challenge
for N3GJ this time. 10 meter band mate LU7DW was always chasing down multipliers
on the second station and running LUs and PYs. The 15 meter team of K3UA and
DL6LAU stayed busy with some rate and lots of rotors turning. 20 meters was
amazing. K1AR, N2NT and N3SD were busy for all 48 hours - what a team! 40 meters
was much harder this year but KL9A, W2RQ and K3LA never gave up - good job by
these veteran contestmen. 80 meters with N5UM and AA4WJ worked very well with
lots of digging. N2NC did his usual job of working through tough conditions on
the topband to find lots of multipliers! Way to go John! Glad to have Sal, WM2H
back with us for the WW, awesome Chef SAL. Thanks to Dave, W9PA for all of the
hard work he does to get us ready for the contest events. We could not do it
without W9PA. Also thanks to Bob, N6TV for his help. Greg, W8WWV and Tim, W3YQ
both spent long days here at K3LR over the summer helping with various antenna
and shack projects. Big thanks guys! Thanks to K3LEA for helping keep us
organized. You can see the K3LR station layout here: http://www.k3lr.com click
on HARDWARE. In a few weeks we will post our CQWW Phone 2018 photos on the
CONTEST PHOTOS area on the K3LR web site. Hope to hear you on the air for the
CQWW CW DX Contest in November!
