Thanks to all who dug me out of the noise. Around 0020Z I put an MP-1 vertical
on 5'of pvc tube, tossed the single wire counterpoises for 20 and 40 out over
the bushes next to my "in a hole" HOA patio, hooked the coax up to my
K3 and jumped into the fray. Tough going.
The patio faces west and the building is an effective shield to the east.
I got good matches on 20 and 40. For 80 I used the K3 tuner to get about 2:1
and
managed 1 QSO with W6SX. N5KO could have pulled me through for #2 but we ran out
of time. It was fun to be active, and 12 QSOs/hour is a bit slower than I like.
Congrats to the big scorers out there.
73,
David N6AN
