7-foot diameter magnetic loop for 20-80, 2el Yagi for 15, 100 watts
All S&P from AZ
15 was open at the start to TX and KS. Plugged along on 20 until around 2120UT
when I had to take care of a few things, including a short nap. Unfortunately,
when I got back to the radio around 0030UT, the heaviest storm of the monsoon
season rolled in. After that finally cleared, 40 started out as a California
party due to all of the QRN. Eventually the band quieted down and I worked some
East Coast and Hawaii, as well as a couple mults on 80. Worked many Bobs and
Dudes. I lost way too much time to shoot for 100 QSOs, so I settled for 2000
points. The best part was that my redesigned enclosure for the vacuum variable
capacitor and 12V motor for the magnetic loop successfully fought off the 1.5
inches of rain in an hour.
