Comments:
We in the Pacific NW missed the good E-skip conditions we had experienced during
the previous week. I noted fewer stations using CW while many more stations used
FT8 to make QSO's across town. Phone or CW would have picked the rate up over
digital rates.
On the other hand, FT8 provided me with some grids I would have missed
otherwise. I noted a couple of folks did not check the NA VHF contest box in
WSJT-X resulting in extended requests for a signal report.
Another great development was all the newcomers (very recent calls)
enthusiastically getting on with their FM gear. Great to hear them on and all
the experienced folks welcoming them to the ARRL VHF Contest.
Thanks to all who answered my calls.
73, Jerry
