Howdy brethren!
My first contest in 7 months. The station was not ready for SOAB entry due to
the lack of low band antennas. To work SOAB without them seemed to be nonsense
and I decided to try SOSB 20 and not to get utterly bored run HC2GRC on other
bands.
RIG IC718 barefoot, no filters, straight key, 6 ele monoband Yagi at 21 meter
high. QTH is in downtown Guayaquil and QRM is a serious issue - s7 noise on 20
not speaking of lower bands. At any rate I had a lot of fun woodpecking. I hope
NA folks didn't get pissed for my QRS QLF QRF. I discovered that with slow
straight keying - I was not able to produce anything higher than 18 wpm - I got
many new calls I had never heard before. A hint for the future operations.
73 and see you in the next one
Alex
