Comments:
Murphy seems to make the Grand Tour in damage... After dismantling my collapsed
rotary 30 m tower at the OH1ZAA location (Gulf of Bothnia coast), it seemed that
I was running without a reflector on the OH3BCX 3-element... The azimuth
inverting relays take power, but there is no change in the pattern, so probably
the relay contacts have been torn off by ice, and I have 145 pF capacitors on
both equal length parasitics. Therefore it is a symmetric yagi with poor gain,
and picking up noise tremendeously from the back... Actually the 7 MHz vertical
turned out to work better on 14 MHz, and in the last minutes I picked up 4
stations on 7 MHz too Damages will be hard to repair as long as snow persists
(April).. Cheers/73, Zaba OH1ZAA
