Oh what a night. Out of town all day until 0200z. Plenty of time to get set
right. Wrong.Got in the radio room about 0215, made a couple of quick pre-test
Qs on 15m. Looking good. It was then that I noticed the internet connection was
out. Thunderstorms in the area, I figured caused the outage. Little did I know
that the oproblem was with the cable line amp that feeds my house and
neighbors.

At 0228z, I noticed a message appear on N1MM:Window title was "Error
checking for new version of the program." Window message said "The
remote name could not be resolved 'n1mmplus.hamdocs.com'

Options were hit the X to close that window or click OK. I chose to cloee the
window since I hadn't tried to update. That put 'MM in a Freeze. could not send
with Winkey paddle or with F keys. Restarted program. Lost 2 minutes. Made a
couple of Qs. then the mysterious update window appeared. I hit the X again.
Right, it froze again. Rebooted computer and program. There goes more precious
time. Made a few more Qs and the window popped up again. This time, I tried
clicking "OK" and it went away and program continued to operate.

As you might imagine, by then my psyche was unsettled, to say the least.
Started to fold a couple times, but plodded on into the noise abyss on 80 and
even 160. I'm amazed that I managed 38 Qs.

After the NS, I tried to get the cable back up to post score. Was told it would
be repaired by noon Friday. Bummer. Well, they missed the mark by 3 hours.
Internet just back at 3 p.m.

Sorry for the bandwidth but it has been a very frustrating experience.
