Comments:
The computer that does my logging, SO2R, and voice/cw keying slowly came to a
halt as Saturday afternoon progressed. It would work well for a few minutes and
then it would eventually hang. Fortunately I managed to move the *.s3db N1MM
file from the failing PC over to another so I could at least have computer
logging. After a short while I realized that with so many years of having a
computer do the mundane chores of logging, SO2R, band changing, mode control,
and voice/cw keying, I couldn't go back to the old way very happily. So I
enlisted the use of an old W7 machine I had kicking around and spent the next
few hours getting N1MM+, VSPMgr, drivers, audio lines and levels, and cables
set up and working. By early Sunday I was back!
For the radio part, it seemed like a pretty typical good year for 6 meter E
with the usual flat conditions on the other bands. With his super 1127/170 it
seems that K1TO must have worked everybody - except me. Not sure how that
happened. As always, a special thanks to the rovers for getting on from the
road and the hilltops.
Radios for all bands: 2 x K3/P3 plus various transverters.
