I was not sure if I wanted to operate seriously this year or not but the
opportunity to operate using Remote Ham Radio’s
(http://www.remotehamradio.com) station in Summit, NY developed and that got
the excitement flowing. It turned out to be a fantastic time. Having only
operated remotely for about a week, I really wasn’t sure what to expect of it
during a contest. Well, it was fantastic. I would recommend this experience to
anyone.
Special thanks to RHR (especially W2RE and WW2DX) for helping me out with this.
The contest itself was generally a great time. The high bands, especially 15
and 10 were a disaster but 20M provided some great fun - especially on the
second day. The low bands were OK, and 40 was fantastic during the final hour.
I’m a huge fan of the 36 hour limit for single ops. The Summit station played
exceptionally well.
I really enjoy SO2R but I only had one K3/0 this time so it was a 1 radio
affair - lots of CQing! Using just one radio actually made for a more relaxing
event.
Thanks for the QSOs and fun!

Nate/N4YDU
