Comments:
Great Contest here at VA3ELE in FN03dm.
Steve VE3SMA once again came to help out operating and also a newcomer to VHF
Carl, VE3AXC had a few hours to spare and came to visit. He much enjoyed the
experience and will come again.
By the looks of it, conditions seemed somewhat poor, yet, somehow, we managed
to make a new high score for this station.
Murphy behaved and stayed away most of the time. Only at the beginning we had a
power supply issue on 2m and ended up using just rig power of 100 watts
throughout the contest. 6m was plagued with noise most of the time with s5-s7,
Im surprised we got 25 QSOs on that band. All other bands seemed to operate
rather well.
Between calling CQ, the ON4KST chat provided a great fill in during the dry
times. There were many QSOs that would not have happened without getting a
stations attention on the chat.
Thanks to everyone that got on for the contest and worked us, especially
VE3OIL/R that braved the many hours of driving and operating throughout the
many grids. Also, once again, thanks to VE3SMA and VE3AXC for coming to operate
here as well, without you guys, this would not have been as much fun.
See you in the SPRINTS! June contest, once again, my anniversary falls on
Sunday this year, it will be a somewhat limited effort.
