Comments:
My operating time started much earlier than I thought as our Saturday afternoon
plans moved to Sunday afternoon. As it turned out that was a good thing due to
the severe static crashes that ruined Saturday evening. When conditions got to
the point that I could not copy most of the stations calling me, even when
using beverage RX antennas on 40 - 160, I decided to shut down. My last QSO was
at 0402 UTC with less then 8 hours of op time.
Even with the earlier than expected stop time I was able to enjoy some really
incredible runs. With a high 1 minute of 360 and a best hour of 150, both on 40
meters. SO2R proved to be both helpful and fun and forced me to really focus and
held my interest. That kept my BUTT IN THE CHAIR as SSB contesting is not my
favorite.
In the end I was able to meet my original goal of turning in over 100,000
points for the club.
Next weekend back to CW. Hope to get you in the log next weekend for CQWW 160
CW. Thanks for the Qs and MANY repeats.
