Comments:
Laid back effort along the North Country National Scenic Trail. Announced my
intent to be on the trail only on the DXclusters and on the QRP-L reflector
prior to the event. "Reasonable" hour long run, with a few spaces of
4 to 7 minutes between contacts. But, still better than I ever managed by
"fighting for the jump ball" doing S&P against the "full
gallon" crowd. Typically I'd be 2nd, 3rd, or higher in line to work a
"running" station when doing S&P. Not much fun. Sitting around,
calling CQ CWT, and getting called the the "TOP GUNS" is much more
rewarding.
I suspect that the lower wavelength, higher frequency bands were open, so fewer
folks visited 40 meters in the early part of the hour.
All in all, I trust that a good time was had by all.
