Comments:
Decided it was time to put in more than a token effort, subject to the
limitations of the antenna system and my old body. Set a goal of at least
beating last year's score, and I did by 100+ QSO's and 16K points. Worked
everything I could hear except RW0F. Too bad I couldn't hear more. Loop
receiving antenna never beat the transmitting antenna, even though I could
notch local noise sources with it. Briefly attempted SO2V operation, but need
to work on that skill in an off-air situation. Looking forward to the CQ 160
contest next month. I have a long way to go for 160 meter DXCC.
Equipment:
K3 to AL82 @ 1500 Watts. This feeds "T" antenna with apex at 55'. I
feed inner/outer of 80 meter dipole feedline from MFJ tuner against 14 radials
to property lines of 80' x 120' lot. Several pass through swimming pool.
