Comments:
The score is pretty close to the last year's, but how I got there was quite
different. Obviously no 10 M Qs and about the same 80M total as a year ago,
which meant that 20 and 40 had to pick up the slack. Before the contest John
(W6JZH) had a real concern about the harmonic inter-band interference caused by
some kind of device in the neighbor's yard. It certainly made one particular
band-combination very challenging and another one difficult, but ultimately was
not a huge problem. I felt very fortunate that the sweep came the earliest I can
remember with all mults calling me, except NT. This was a real contrast to my
early problem with getting NL, it's just always been hard for some reason. The
competition in A category was certainly fascinating this year with some usual
suspects and some new entrants, representing a wide geographical area with high
QSO counts coming from the South East, Midwest, Mountain West and West Coast. I
will be interesting to see how it all shakes out.
