As we know the score here is an estimate, some change drastically!
I checked things Friday night and found 3:1 SWR on my TX antenna. HUH? Had the
chickens fouled my feedpoint? I cant blame the birds, instead a split nut
connector had worked loose and a lil corrosion didn't help. Some
cleaning, tightening and the addition of a couple more radials made the Inv L
play again. I'll pull one from the next door neighbors yard before a kid finds
it HIHI!
Threw my Beverage wire up the same as always and for some reason it hears
mostly noise, the feedline will be renewed before winter. Thankfully I left the
K9AY loop in place as it was my rcv workhorse. A few times I had to switch to
the Inv L for callers from the south.
It seemed that FM19 was in a black hole with many very weak stations and only a
couple good copy.
Started thee contest as LP but when I cant work KV4FZ I throw the amp
inline,Herb, you're my power gauge HIHI.
Only one EU heard and worked , G4AMT, great job.
Other DX , KH6AT,KH6LC,V3A,KV4FZ,XE2S,NP2X and nice to work VE9AA,VO1HP,and
VY2LI.
And to all the rest a big thanks for making it a fun contest again.
ICOM PRO3, KENWOOD TL922, Bazooka fed coax INV L @55', K9AY LOOP in a pecan
tree, 530' unterminated BEV , N1MM+
73 See ya in the Big Stew
