Comments:
Thanks goes to Southeastern VHF Society for sponsoring the Fall VHF Sprints.
They're fun to take part!
Most distant contacts were K2DH FN13, K1TR FN42, and W9KXI FN12. I heard
someone sending FN43 a couple of times on CW and couldn't pull out the call
sign from the fading QSB. It may have been AF1T.
I used a FT-991 and an Arrow 7 element portable antenna mounted to a
telescoping 22 ft painter's pole attached to the railing of a second story
balcony.
I'm located in a valley near Millstone river and Delaware and Raritan Canal in
Rocky Hill. I have a hill in close proximity towards the Southwest that rises
145 ft a third mile away. I never hear WA1ZMS or W3CCX beacons from this
location. Also, Sourland Mountain is several miles away towards NW and a rock
quarry towards NNE. It amazes me what you can actually work from here.
Regards,
Peter
