Comments:

This is all N3QE's fault. He suggested doing a M/2 for NAQP SSB. PVRC is in a
heated battle with NCCC and SMC for the NAQP Cup Challenge Trophy so I agreed.
John Evans, N3HBX, was very gracious and let us use his fine contest station in
Poolesville, MD.

I have never done NAQP SSB, so this was a new experience. We put together a
great team: N8IVN, W2CDO, N3QE, and K3AJ joined me at the "farm" for
twelve hours of radio fun.

Tim retained his title for the champion at blowing fuses (we had a glitch in a
stackmatch and an antenna switch). In fact, I think he beat his previous
record. We were glad to have N8IVN and K3AJ back at the farm after long
abscences and were pleased that W2CDO could come back and join us. That's five
PVRC "participant" multipliers for the NAQP Cup Challenge!

The station had some tower and antenna damage from a lightning strike Monday,
but John has designed a station that is easily reconfigurable with lots of
antenna choices so this didn't seriously affect our operation.

We only managed a few QSOs on 10 meters, but 15 meters was better than I
expected, yielding 141 QSOs and 22 multipliers. 20 yielded good runs and 80
meter conditions were good. 40 was not the "money band" it was for
WX3B last year.

160 was good for the first few hours after darkness, but there wasn't much
activity.

73 and thanks for all the QSOs!

Mark, KD4D
