Comments:
I roved in 5 grids going from Sioux Falls SD to Dubuque IA. This was tied to a
family trip, so roving was not the major emphasis. Activity was slow when I was
in western MN on Saturday, but picked up on Sunday. Highlights for this desert
rat included QSOes at 322 miles on 432 and 222 with K2DRH; that humidity in the
air helps a lot. Also, worked more different 902 and 1296 stations than I have
in any other contest. I worked lots of rovers as well; I am not used to having
so many other rovers to work. Activity seemed high for me at least, I have gone
out in a UHF contest and not worked anyone, so I think that the "Contest
Formerly Known as the ARRL UHF Contest" was a success. Thanks to those who
stepped up and filled the sudden and unexpected void in August. I hope that the
UHF activity continues. Submit your logs.
