Comments:
I've only been on 6m one other time, over a year ago. First time in a VHF
contest. First 6m QSOs on SSB First VE contacts. My R6000 vertical is a real
poor listener and a poor match on 6, so on Saturday afternoon I whipped up a
squalo out of 1/2-inch copper tubing, tuned it up, and stuck it up on a 10-foot
piece of conduit braced by a step ladder. Definitely worked better.
This turned out to be a Worked All Livermore contest :-) That, plus a lot of
other locals, a hand full of Montana stations, and a couple VE6 stations.
Sunday mid-day was pretty good. There seemed to be a fair amount of activity
though I could hear very little of it. About a 50/50 mix of running and
S&P, with 5 SSB QSOs. A whole bunch of dupes called me. What's up with
that?
