Comments:
Only decided to do this contest a couple of weeks ago. It had been 7 years
since I last participated in this event. Generally summer conditions are not
great from 8P so this was not my favorite contest. However, I had a bunch of
repaired gear to bring down. Plus, I wanted to test new computers, a new major
release of Writelog, and new station automation software. I also wanted to
continue to experiment with dual frequency operation.
The station came together well with a few software issues, all but one resolved
before the contest, and the last with a workaround.
Got off to a good start, and maintained momentum until my last off time ended
on Sunday Morning. The last 9 hours were very slow with limited US activity.
Did not quite get to the score I thought possible Sunday morning, but still
achieved my goal of breaking the North American record.
Once working, the station hardware and software performed great all weekend.
Thanks for a great contest and all the QSO's
