Comments:
Interesting contest. Condx kept improving until the disturbance Sunday
afternoon. Was a little surprised I couldn't run better. Couple times i had
what i thought was a decent frequency but couldn't generate much interest.
Worked only 1 eu on 160 the first night - CR2X. Not sure they count as EU. :)
Sat night they popped in and out all evening with good signals, quite a nice
evening although very little from central EU. 80 never seemed to really take
off, 2nd night was better but not all that much. 40 was the struggle 40 fone
is for a lp station. Many, many stations i couldn't work. 20 seemed to be
always open to somewhere but again the qrm was difficult. Very little over the
pole. 15 was by far the most productive band, had a couple decent runs. Would
have been helped by less time DXing on 10. 10 was quite interesting. I was
surprised at the number of s-5/7/9 stations I couldn't work. Even though there
were some very loud stations on the band, repeated attempts to CQ generated
maybe a dozen contacts. Very few 100w stations worked, the vast majority were
HP. The way the northeast US was dominating the band reminded me of the low
bands.
It's amazing the past couple years how the contest weekends seem to enjoy good
propagation. Hope that holds into the future!
