Comments:
Single band entry is the ticket for us old timers...and since the low bands are
my choice, it becomes a nighttime operation. Usually do 40 meters but unable
to eliminate a local noise source that wipes out 40, decided to do 80. When I
heard that fellow CTRI'er KI1G was doing a SB40, I knew that access to the RI
mult for the Deserving was in extra safe hands. Congrats Rick on the great
score on 40! My operation on 80 with a single TX 1/4 wave vertical and 4 RX
bevs and plenty of short breaks went as expected. Nothing great. Expected more
EU callers. Heard a couple of weak JAs at SR like the always YBK, but no Q.
Snagged VK but no ZL. Disappointing. Dropped down to 160 a few times to pass
out the RI mult to those in need...always fun. 73! -- John, W1XX
