Comments:
Wow. Just wrote a long set of comments, and must have pressed the wrong key, as
the computer ate the whole thing.
I've spent the last month fixing antenna problems on 20, 40, and 80 due to
storm damage. Appreciate especially assistance from K5NA, K5OT, W5JAW, and N5TW
to rebuild the SAL30 receiving array, which was "laid out flat" due to
a major flood along the creek bottom where the antenna is located. The new array
is on "stilts" and is elevated four additional feet. No deer of flood
damage in the future (hopefully).
Briefly:
* New SAL30 antenna helped a lot. Heard everyone on 80
* 20 stayed open a long time, longer than anyone was still active
* 80 was a gas. The rate kept up.
* Missed ND, KY, UT, NE, VE 4-5-6, and AK (KL7RA RIP)
* Appreciate VY1AAA working me a second time on 20 and telling me he missed my
number the first QSO. I could not hear his request due to a huge pile up
calling him the first time. Thanks for coming back!
* One of my best ever mults, my usual weakness.
Congrats to the super-stars of this. N6MJ's hand-keyed one radio Sprint result
in this thing will last forever as a mark of excellence. Other terrific scores
are amazing. I was really tired after the contest ended last night.
See you guys in Orlando this coming week. Thanks to K5KG for LOTS of help.
73, Jim
