Comments:
This was a nice, slow paced contest. Band conditions were fair, nothing heard on
any band except North America and a couple of Caribbean stations all day. Worked
PR and VI, heard Hawaii an 40 meters late last night. The op was able to pull my
callsign out of the noise but not my name and state so the was a busted Q. AA9A
gave me a heck of a time trying to beat their score, managed to finally pass
them sometime around midnight. To be honest, they mopped the floor with me
earlier in the day, and the only reason I feel that I passed them is because
they quit early in the game. Built and tried a new 20 meter Delta loop corner
fed with 300 ohm ladder line yesterday morning, its performance was not as good
as I hoped. Need to re-evaluate this antenna, I think that I made it a little
short which is making it hard to tune.Worked Doc W4OC on 80 meters, and saw Ted
K7OM several times on the bands.
