Comments:
Worked in pieces--the first hour, then off to a museum in D.C. for the afternoon
with the XYL. Put in another 5.5 hours after dark. Band conditions were pretty
good (SN 80, A 6, K 2) but propagation was long. Ten meters opened at 1800Z to
the far western states. At least it was active. Late afternoon when we got
home, 10 was dead and buried, 15 closed within a few minutes, and 20 was very
long. Even 40 was long until late night when all of a sudden New England
signals came up. Went to 80 meters at 0400Z and picked up the states I couldn't
hear on other bands. This was my first NAQP and guys, I thoroughly enjoyed it.
Next year, with any luck, I will go for the full time allowed. 73 to all!
