Comments:
Now *that* was fun! Especially the last ten minutes on 160 with 7 Qs and five
new mults and a total of 6 mults on Top Band. I never expected that!
My antenna tuner developed a intermittent when I went to 40 so I had to
implement the title of that old QST article "My Coax Tunes My
Antenna". I had to insert various lengths of coax to allow the TS-570
internal tuner to use the long-wire on 160/80/40. that probably cost me 20
minutes of operating time but the overall result was excellent. I never
expected this good a score and continue to be amazed by the performance of this
wire antenna.
It was interesting to note I never heard WY, HI, ND or NE but worked all other
US mults on at least one band. Both my XYL and I need NE for WAS and are
beginning to wonder if the state seceded and no one noticed? :) I heard no a
peep from any of the fellow Radiosport Manitoba contingent, which is
disappointing.
Overall I am very pleased and look forward to the SSB version, which my XYL
will operate.
