Comments:
Conditions were worse than ARRL 160. Sounded like a mid-summer night with all
the QRN. Activity also seemed down, probably due to condx. & holiday
weekend.
No DX worked. Heard KV4FZ down in the noise a couple of times but couldn't work
him. Best "DX" was west coast in CM04 and there was a brief spotlight
to CN87. STILL, enjoyed it anyway!
Tried a simple stereo diversity receive setup with one RX on the TX vertical
and one RX on the inv. V (on the same tower). It definitely helped! Got rid of
much of the rapid polarity-shift QSB and made weak signals sound
"ghost-like" but they were much easier to copy. I'll be doing this
again!
Thanks for the Q's and HNY!
See you in the CQWW 160.
73, Paul - K0PK
