Comments:
Kenwood TS-950SD,(dialed down to 99 watts), Heil Pro and BM-10 Headsets, Home
Brew G5RV up 50 feet running N-S at 6,053 feet elevation from my Apartment QTH
in Cheyenne. These were the worst conditions I have ever encountered in 26 years
of contesting!I had one good hour long "run" on 40 Meters, and a couple
of short runs on 20, but I earned my dental degree "pulling teeth" in
this one, with lots of repeats needed. QRN was high for this QTH,and QSB was
rapid in nature, and quite pronounced at times. All in all,a tough go, but I
decided to stick in out in tribute to KO7X, Alan Brubaker, a First Class
Contester, and local Wyoming Op who became a Silent Key during preparation for
this contest. R.I.P. Alan !
