I only was able to operate Sunday morning. My intentions were to follow the
rules in regard to assistance. The apple tempted me and as a result I will not
be able to submit this score. I monitored the ON4KST chat page and when I
noticed K8GP scheduling Greg KX4R in EM73 @ 666 miles I thought I would listen
in. To my surprise Greg was 419. I tail-ended GP but no luck so the "sweet
apple" made me alert Greg on the chat page he was being heard by me. He
reposition his flashlight by 13 degrees and we made the contact... Thanks Greg
for our first.. The "sweet apple" was worth it!
I don't fully understand why you can tell folks where you are and your sequence
on digital modes but not on CW..
Thanks for the QSOs and CQ magazine for sponsoring this event. I will be back
next year to spend more time and I promise to follow the rules.. (I think)
