Hola,
The great Premier for my new local Call Sign wasn't a real great Success.
I am pleased with my new Tenerife Contest Set-up at the Altitude of 140 M.
The Station consist of an IC-7800, a 3 element SteppIR and a N1MM+. In general
it worked just fine. During last weekend BARTG the Low Band conditions,
however, were in catastrophic shape. On 80 M there was NIL QSO's and on 40 M
just a hand full, other bands performed very good, however the VK/ZL direction
was NIL, so only 5 Continents.
The weird conditions supprised me totally by a great 6 M opening to SA in the
middle of Sunday afternoon pile-up's. I had to stop working BARTG for a while
and benefit the 30 Min cross-Atlantic opening on 50 Mhz.
This caused easy QSO's with VP2ETE, 9Z4BM, 8R1WD, 9Y4D, 9Z4AMA, TO6D, NP4BM and
YV4NN (59+20 dB signal) to my Log.
This was a nice refreshment to boring ping-pong of same ZTIME like BARTG
Contest requires,hi.
>From time to time my modest Low Power station reached nice Pile-up's indicating
the antenna is working well to Future Contests. Here in uptown even the man-made
QRM is fairly low.
Thank you for all valuable 738 QSO's, see you the pile-up's.
